FLUKE’S ENERGY SAVING SOLUTION – THE NEW POWER QUALITY AND ENERGY ANALYZER

South Africa’s cost of power is increasing at an alarming rate and users of power are being asked to save energy wherever possible to help prevent future power cuts. Industry and facilities alike are looking for ways to conserve energy in order to reduce ever-escalating energy bills.

South Africa’s cost of power is increasing at an alarming rate and users of power are being asked to save energy wherever possible to help prevent future power cuts. Industry and facilities alike are looking for ways to conserve energy in order to reduce ever-escalating energy bills.

Fluke, represented in southern Africa by the Comtest Group, has come up with a solution for this crisis where not only does their offering give the best in power quality analysis, but also has the ability to clearly quantify energy losses in Rands and cents terms. Their answer is the newly launched Fluke 430 Series II Power Quality and Energy Analyzers, which replaces the current Fluke 430 series. The energy analysis capabilities of the 430 Series II gives electricians the ability to determine how much power is being wasted and calculate exactly what the extra consumption costs. The technology behind this monetization capability is revolutionary and can only be found with the Fluke 430 Series II.

The new Fluke 434, 435 and 437 Series II models help locate, predict, prevent, and troubleshoot power quality problems in three-phase and single-phase power distribution systems. Additionally, the Fluke-patented energy loss algorithm, Unified Power Measurement, measures and quantifies energy losses due to poor power quality such as harmonics and unbalance issues, allowing users to pinpoint the origin of energy waste within a system and make the necessary repairs.

The 434 Series II energy analyzer is specifically designed for facilities engineers, building managers (energy costs), residential and commercial electricians and basic power quality users an delivers power and energy analysis using patented algorithms – energy loss calculator monetizes cost of poor power quality.

The 435 Series II power quality and energy analyzer has application in waveform capture and power inverter efficiency which measures efficiency of inverters in solar, wind UPS apps for industrial electricians, utilities technicians and advanced power quality users.

Top-of-the-range 437 Series II power quality and energy analyzer (available May 2012) targets the military defence, avionics and other transport-focused industrial electricians and technicians for the capture of power quality measurements for avionic and military power systems with 400Hz frequency needs.

How the 430 Series II provides monetization data Built into the 430 Series II is a mathematical formula for the monetization of energy created by the professors and staff at Valencia University, USA. Fluke heard about their work, did their own testing, and incorporated it into the 430 II, making it the only power quality analyzer in the world with energy monetization capabilities. Fluke’s rigorous testing of all their products ensures that this model conforms to the same high quality standards of all Fluke products and on which Fluke users have come to rely.
